On wednesday the 18th of august we fly straight to New York and then to Honolulu where we'll be around 6 in the evening.

For the first week we'll stay on O'ahu. We've rented a flat here: http://www.kuhiobanyanwaikiki.com/ on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu.

Our plan is then to visit Maui and the Big Island, but when and how we'll se when we get there :)

Hawaii consists of hundreds of islands spread over 2400 km, with eight main islands (Ni'ihau, kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i, Lana'i, Kaho'olawe, Maui and Hawai'i - the last one known as The Big Island).

In 1959 Hawaii became the 50th US state, and is the only US state that:

  • is not geographically located in North America

  • is completely surrounded by water

  • is an entire archipelago

  • has a royal palace

  • grows coffee

  • does not have a straight line in its state boundary
